Holy Quran is a book so special that no other book can ever come close to its Holiness in any possible manner. This is so, because Allah Almighty Himself claims Quran to be His very own words as mentioned in various verses all through the Quran, such as:
"Indeed it is We who have sent down the Quran, and indeed it is Us who shall preserve it." (Surah 15:9)
That is why learning Quran is seen as an act of great admiration, promised to be rewarded by Allah Almighty, not only in this world, but the world hereafter. This is the reason Muslims have been so particular about Quran recitation all through the history of Islam.
The Mightiest of all, Allah Almighty Himself honors those who recite Holy Quran in the following words:
Aal-e-Imran [3:113] Not all of them are alike; a party of the people of the Scripture stand for the right, they recite the Verses of Allâh during the hours of the night, prostrating themselves in prayer.
This is merely one verse that tells us how exalted and honorable are considered those people who indulge themselves in Quran recitation. It is an act of great love, respect, commitment, and obligation to God Almighty. In fact, it is one of the best ways to establish connection between God and His creations.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) also honors Quran Recitation in the following words:
"Envy is not permitted except in respect of two persons -- one whom Allah blesses with the recitation of the Quran and he remains engaged in it day and night, and the other is one who given abundance of wealth by Allah and he spends it (in Allah's path) day and night".
