Significance of peace in Quran

Islam is a religion, which greatly stresses on peace. The Quran is the divine Holy book of the Muslims. They rely on it for taking guidance about most of the worldly and spiritual aspects of living.

The significance of peace in the religion of Islam can be judged from the fact that the reward for the dutiful Muslims in the hereafter is a state of ultimate peace and no fear. Many critics of Islam especially say that Surah Baqara (the second chapter) of the Quran has verses, which promote violence and war. This is not true. Actually, those verses are about special circumstances that prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) faced in his life.

If someone wants to understand the message of peace in the Quran, especially in the Surah Baqara must consider the verses mentioned below.

Allah Almighty says in the Quran,

“But he who feareth from a testator some unjust or sinful clause, and maketh peace between the parties, (it shall be) no sin for him. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful”. Quran Al-Baqara [2:182]

“And make not Allah, by your oaths, a hindrance to your being righteous and observing your duty unto Him and making peace among mankind. Allah is Hearer, Knower”. Quran Al-Baqara [2:224]

Importance of Muharram according to the Quran

Many people think that Muharram is important only because the incident of Karbala happened in it. However, the study of Quran and Hadees shows that Muharram is important for several other reasons too.

Given below is a verse from the Quran.

The number of months in the sight of Allah is twelve (in a year) - So ordained by Him the day He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are sacred: That is the right religion. So wrong not yourselves therein”. (Surah Taubah Al-Quran)

The following is a brief explanation of the importance of Muharram according to the Quran and Hadees.

  1. Allah Almighty declared Muharram as the sacred month in the Quran.
  2. . Allah Almighty chose Muharram to be the first month of the Islamic calendar.
  3. The Jews of Medina used to fast on 10th of Muharram because on 10th Moses (r.a) was saved from the tyrant ruler and his army miraculously.
  4. The prophet Muhammad asked the Muslims to fast for the same reason. However to distinguish the Muslims from the Jews he asked to fast either on 9th or on 11th of Muharram. If a person wants to fast on 10th also, then he should fast on both the 9th and 10th of Muharram.
  5. Allah chose Shahadat for Imam Hussein (r.a) on the 10th of Muharram. It was a blessing of Allah on him to be Shaheed on such a sacred day.

Why to Learn and Teach Quran?

Quran is a divine book of Allah, its every word is Allah’s word and Allah is a supreme power and creator of everything in this universe. We are here today is just because of Allah now the question is why to learn Quran? The answer is very simple that as Quran is a divine book of Allah than it must contain important messages of Allah for His creatures and guidelines for all mankind. I can elaborate this through by giving you an example of any new product which comes in market for example an I-phone it must contains a manual for it which contains all the instructions and other guidelines for operating it. So you can say that Quran is a manual for all of us, we should learn it in order to understand and after learning we should Teach Quran to all others, it has great virtues and just because of you another person can also go to a straight path.

Our Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) said: "Envy is permitted only in two cases: A man whom Allah gives wealth, and he disposes of it rightfully, and a man to whom Allah gives knowledge which he applies and teaches it.'' If you have enough knowledge than its ones duty to spread it otherwise you will be answerable to Allah. May Allah bless us to learn Quran and teach it to others as well.

Online Quran- Different Aspects

Downloading the online Quran to the mobile phone or the computer is a great idea. Just keep the following things about the online Quran in the mind.

1. One should essentially make sure that the online Quran is authentic. It means that the Quran is not altered in any way and there is nothing omitted or added to the original manuscript of the Quran.

2. Some Muslims are not careful and vigilant about the authenticity of the Quran they download. They say that the safety of the Quran is the responsibility of Allah Almighty. Therefore, they do not need to bother. It is true that Allah Almighty has promised the safety of Quran by himself. However, a Muslim must not forget his or her responsibility. If someone is being vigilant about the accuracy of the online Quran, the person himself is herself is benefitting because he r she is earning virtues by doing so.

3. The online Quran should be respected just as one respects the hard copy of the Quran. Remember the words in the Quran are the words of the Allah Almighty revealed on the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.). Therefore, whether it is in the form of a hard copy or a soft copy, it is mandatory on the Muslims to respect it.

Why to Seek Forgiveness from Allah

“Before you could ask for forgiveness, God has already forgiven you. Each second He's calling for you knocking at your door so that you may follow the straight path and return to Him peacefully”. In this Hadith e Qudsi Allah says I forgive you before you could ask for forgiveness that shows Allah is Merciful and Quran uses the attribute “Raheem, Kareem” for Allah, Allah forgives a person if he is guilty. While Quran Recitation I read an Ayat which is about forgiveness which is as follow:

“O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as its.”

Every day every second we done many things wrong, we do a lot of sins but we forget that Allah is seeing us, nothing is hidden from Allah. But if we ask Him for forgiveness, He definitely forgives His creatures. As our Holy Prophet (S.A.W) said O people! Repent to Allah and seek for His forgiveness. I repent to Him in a day 100 times” (Reported by Muslim).

Different Aspects of Online Quran reading

The online Quran reading is getting extremely popular among the Muslims now. There are several reasons for this consistent increase in popularity. A basic reason is that the Muslim world too has adopted technology now and is now more comfortable with the computers and internet as compared to the state some years ago. Especially the youngsters prefer online Quran reading now because they spend most of their time on their computers and the internet.

There are several aspects of the online Quran reading that the adult Muslims must keep in mind.

1. The online Quran reading is not different from the conventional Quran reading in the spirit. So, one must take special care that one is prepared for it. The Muslims should perform ablution before doing it. The Muslim women should cover their heads.

2. The online Quran reading is also done after hearing the recitation online. In that case, using the microphone and headphones should be always encouraged.

3. The Muslim parents should encourage the online Quran reading because the children are more comfortable with using computers for education purposes. If they want a tutor for the children, the online tutors can easily be arranged. Many websites offer Quran education classes for individuals irrespective of their age.

Importance of Friday Prayer in Quran

The following is given a verse from the Holy Quran about the Friday prayer.

"O you who believe, when the Salat is announced on Friday, you shall hasten to the commemoration of God, and drop all business. This is better for you, if you only knew. Once the prayer is completed, you may spread through the land to seek God's bounties, and continue to remember God frequently, that you may succeed." Quran [62:9-10]

So, according to this verse from the Holy Quran, a Muslim must keep in mind the following points.

· The Friday prayer holds a lot of significance in Islam.

· The Muslims should listen to the Azaan with complete silence and deep respect. One should drop all other tasks when the Azaan starts.

· One should not keep his business or work at priority when compared to the Friday prayer.

· The Slat is compulsory at its timings only. The Quran does not demand from the Muslims to devote all the time to the prayer and religious rituals. After the prayer time is over, one may proceed to business or recreation or whatsoever is on his or her mind.

· The key to success lies in the frequent remembrance of Allah Almighty.
